A collaboration with a Vancouver-based clothing company, Aritzia, for their Lunar New Year collection, ‘Year of The Tiger’. 

The inspiration behind this collaboration stems from my personal memories of Lunar New Year celebrations with my family. I wanted to capture the essence of those cherished moments and infuse them into this collection. 

One of the key elements that I incorporated into the design concept is the interaction between certain foods, which is reminiscent of the conversations and various activities that took place among my extended family members during the festivities. 

To represent the significance of Lunar New Year, I purposefully handpicked specific foods, fruits, and sweets that hold great traditional value and are cherished during this festive season. Each food item carries its own symbolic meaning.

For instance, noodles are a symbol of happiness and longevity. It is believed that the longer the noodle, the longer one’s life will be. Additionally, dumplings represent wealth, since its shape is similar to ancient Chinese money. Some believe that eating dumplings would give heavenly blessings.
